Picaia, Organic Red Wine, is a gem from Azienda Agricola Bianchi, located in Arogno in the charming Canton of Ticino. Our youngest red wine, vinified in steel with a 15-day fermentation. Easy-drinking, fresh, and fruity wine.

This precious red wine, produced following strict organic principles, embodies the passion and commitment of the organic farm in creating wines that fully respect the territory and environment.

Always committed to loving and respecting nature, in 2023 we had to face the consequences of its power, losing almost half of the harvest due to a violent hailstorm.

Thanks to our Vigneron colleagues, we purchased part of the grapes from outside the canton, always certified Bio Suisse. Our winemaking expertise was crucial in preserving the quality and continuity of our work.

Characteristics and Winemaking:

Picaia is made from organic red grapes, carefully selected and handpicked in the vineyards. The vinification takes place in steel, with a 15-day fermentation, using only whole berries, a choice aimed at preserving the integrity of the fruit and enhancing its varietal characteristics. This method allows us to obtain a wine with great aromatic expressiveness, merging traditional Ticino winemaking with modern sustainable production techniques.

Tasting Notes:

Intense ruby color, it expresses a wide fruity range on the nose, with a particular touch of raspberry and cherry.
On the palate, it is easy-drinking and elegant, with good freshness and distinct fruity notes appreciated on the nose.
